Walden holds two things that are easy to confuse. Jackson County's Extension office is on 5th Street there, and the Colorado State Forest field office in the same town manages a 71,000 acre state trust property rather than serving a county, so it is not the office to ring about your own ground. For that the Colorado State Forest Service works from Steamboat Springs, covering Jackson with Moffat and Routt, and supporting the Walden staff besides.
