A statewide model code for wildfire resilience, covering the hardening of structures and the defensible space around them in the wildland urban interface. It is what a landowner building or rebuilding in the interface may have to build to, because it is adopted and enforced by local governing bodies rather than by the state.

Who qualifies This is a code, not a grant. It reaches a landowner through whichever governing body has adopted and enforces it where the property sits, so the county or municipal building department is the office that says whether it applies.

How to apply Ask the county or municipal building department which wildfire code has been adopted where the property sits. Questions to the board itself go to cdps_dfpc_wrcb@state.co.us.
