Lake County is remote high desert and forest, served by two soil and water conservation districts that share one office, one telephone and one website: Lakeview Soil and Water Conservation District over the southern half of the county and Fort Rock and Silver Lake over the northern half. The joint office is on North 1st Street in Lakeview, with post to Paisley. Both give technical assistance and site visits at no cost. The Klamath and Lake Long-Term Recovery Group, formed after the 2021 Bootleg fire, serves this county as well as Klamath.
