A free defensible space assessment of your home and the ground around it, requested through the marshal's own scheduling form. The visit is advisory and educational: it tells you what to change and does not enforce anything.

Worth walking the ground yourself before you book. The marshal's guidance on the same page asks for river rock, gravel or pavers in the first 5 feet, bark mulch and flammable plants such as junipers taken out, grass mowed to less than 4 inches, tree crowns at least 10 feet apart, and 10 feet clear around propane tanks.
