Well logs and well construction rules, and the exempt groundwater uses under ORS 537.545 that need no water right: stock water, up to half an acre of lawn or garden, and single or group domestic use up to fifteen thousand gallons a day. A well report is still required, and exemptions can be restricted inside Critical Groundwater Areas.

Well logs come from the Find a Well Report tool on this same page. The department also runs a Well Abandonment, Repair and Replacement Fund for a household well that is dry, or that was damaged or destroyed by wildfire.
