Superior holds the Mineral County extension office, in the library building on Second Avenue East, sharing the premises with the county weed district. The county is one of three that Bitter Root Resource Conservation and Development Area covers from Hamilton, and its hazardous fuels reduction scheme is a cost share for thinning forested ground: you apply, a forester rings and usually comes out to assess, and an acreage and an agreement are settled between you.
