Help for landowners with unhealthy or hazardous fuel build up on forested property that needs thinning. You apply, and after a wait one of the organisation's foresters contacts you to talk it through and usually to come out and assess the property. Together you settle how many acres will be treated and an agreement is written. The organisation is plain that all cost share projects depend on grant funding being available.
Who qualifies Serves forested property, raw land included, in Missoula, Mineral and Ravalli counties. Aimed at landowners in fire prone areas with a fuel build up that needs thinning. The organisation says to leave any application question blank rather than not applying if you are unsure of the answer.
How to apply Fill in the application form linked from the hazardous fuels reduction page. It can take a few weeks before a forester gets back to you, because applications are processed and prioritised as they come in; the organisation asks you to get in touch if a long time passes with no contact.
