Forest Stewardship Technical Assistance, Montana DNRC

One to one help from a DNRC service forester for anyone who owns forested land in Montana. A forester will walk the ground with you and help with a forest stewardship or management plan, point you at the cost share grants and programmes you can actually use, identify insects and disease and say what to do about them, and explain what Montana's forest practice law asks of you before a harvest. The department has fourteen service foresters and two urban foresters in offices across the state.
Who qualifies Serves forested land, including raw and undeveloped parcels, as well as communities and educators. Non industrial private forests, the family and community forests that make up nearly a quarter of Montana's forestland, are the programme's stated audience.
