Trained University of California Master Gardener volunteers give free research based advice on home gardening to Kings County residents, with a Kings County help desk at the Hanford office one morning a week. This is land and gardening advice, not wildfire assistance.
The Kings County help desk is Thursday only, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., on (559) 852-2736 at the Hanford office on N. Campus Dr. Outside that, you can bring samples to the UCCE office between 8 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday. They cover pest and disease identification, soil and composting, and plant choice for the local 9a-9b zones.
