Firewise USA in Arizona

The state forestry department is the National Fire Protection Association's Firewise USA liaison for Arizona and runs Firewise training for homeowner associations, communities and neighbourhoods. Arizona has more than 215 recognised Firewise sites.
Who qualifies Requires a primary residence in practice. Firewise USA recognition is granted to a neighbourhood or community rather than to a single parcel, so it suits an owner who has neighbours already organised or willing to organise.
How to apply The department publishes three Firewise contacts by zone, each covering named counties. Start from the department's Firewise page, which also carries the Arizona Living with Wildfire booklet.
