Technical help for private forest landowners and the Forest Stewardship programme, delivered in California through the CAL FIRE partnership. State and Private Forestry money also funds local reforestation efforts such as the Feather River RCD's EFoRT.

What it supports is good stewardship on privately owned forest land, including agroforestry, aimed at keeping several forest resources going at once rather than timber alone.
