Winnemucca carries more state offices than a county this size usually does. Extension's Humboldt office is on Fairgrounds Road in the town, the Division of Water Resources runs one of its field offices there, and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources runs the state Conservation Districts Program from Fountain Way in Winnemucca. That last one is worth knowing and worth not overestimating. It supports Nevada's 28 locally elected conservation districts, and it is the only route to them this directory can offer, because the state publishes their names and no address, no phone, no email and no statement of which county any district covers; boundaries appear only as polygons on a map.
