After a wildfire, the Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands takes requests for money to pay for restoration work on the burnt ground. It covers state, private and federal land, though federal land only where the state forester decides the work directly benefits state and private land. Requests go in through the division's area office for the ground in question, and the division recommends working with area office staff while the project is still being put together rather than after it is written.

Who qualifies State, private and federal lands. Federal land is considered only if the state forester determines that the post-fire rehabilitation directly benefits state and private lands.

How to apply Submit the Funding Request form through the relevant Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands area office. The division recommends working with area office staff during all stages of project development. Requests are accepted year round and the Post-Wildfire Review Committee reviews them as they arrive.
