If your land falls outside every fire district and fire department boundary in Navajo County, the county itself issues your open burn permit. The county's warning is worth repeating: fire district boundaries do not follow city, town or unincorporated lines, so check the map before assuming which applies to you.
Who qualifies Serves raw, undeveloped land. Only for property outside any fire district or fire department jurisdiction. If your land is inside one, that district issues the permit instead, and the county's interactive map will name it.
How to apply Search your address on the county's interactive jurisdiction map first. If the property is outside every highlighted area, complete the open burn permit application on the county page. After the permit is issued you must ring 928 524 4050 before igniting any debris burn. Do not burn in winds above 10 miles an hour or under a Red Flag Warning.
