The council leaves a trailer on your property for a week to fill with woody biomass, then collects it and takes the material away at no cost.
The week runs Thursday to Thursday, and you fill the trailer no higher than the sides. Have it loaded and ready first thing on the pick up morning. If anything other than woody biomass is in there at pick up, the contents are dumped out where the trailer is parked. Where this comes from
Who qualifies Eastern Sierra County residents and property owners. Woody biomass only: shrubs, tree limbs up to 10 inches across, and loose pine needles and cones rather than bagged ones. Household rubbish, hazardous materials, plastic bags, construction material, dimensional lumber, metal and wire are refused. The council says it hopes to extend the service into western Sierra County.
