San Diego Curbside Chipping
FreeClosedChipping · Free, from Fire Safe Council of San Diego County
Curbside chipping administered by the RCD of Greater San Diego. Grant funding is spent out and the programme is not accepting applicants; community chipping events continue where funded.
Two things to be clear about before you plan around this one. It is not open: the council says the grant money for the programme has been spent and it is not taking applicants, and even when money is there, applying is not a guarantee of service and the neighbourhoods covered can be added or dropped without notice. When it does run, you do the cutting and the contractor chips what you have cleared and takes it away, up to half a day of work at no charge. The district that actually runs it is the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County, with the council as partner, so that is who a question about your address goes to.
