San Bernardino Mountain Communities Curbside Chipping

The council provides free curbside chipping for the San Bernardino mountain communities between Waterman Canyon and Big Bear Valley, funded by a CAL FIRE grant. Residents stack material along a road or driveway and register for a chipping round.
Chipping runs to a registration deadline rather than on demand. The Rim communities get two rounds a month through September, with Big Bear on the first deadline of each month. Who qualifies Residents of the San Bernardino mountain communities between Waterman Canyon and Big Bear Valley. Piles no more than 4 feet high and 25 feet long, cut ends facing the street; root balls over 8 inches, construction debris and contaminated material are refused. The council states it may refuse or revoke service at its discretion.
