Eastern Madera County Defensible Space and Hazard Tree Assistance

The council arranges contractors to carry out defensible space work and hazard tree removal at no cost for vulnerable residents of eastern Madera County, and leaves the owner with a post treatment evaluation and maintenance advice.
Brush removal, limbing, hazard tree removal and access improvements can all be considered. Rented homes, with very limited exceptions, cannot. Have proof of any low income programme you are enrolled in, such as SNAP or Lifeline, ready when you fill the form in. The council says it is currently awaiting its next round of funding. Who qualifies Aimed at low income, tribal, elderly or otherwise disadvantaged residents. The property must be in eastern Madera County in a high or very high hazard severity zone, and the applicant must be the legal owner of the home and land. The council says not all homeowners will meet the income requirements. Grass trimming is not funded, and treatment is limited to 100 feet around a habitable structure.
How to apply Fill in the inquiry form on the council's homeowner assistance page. Applications are worked in the order they are received and join a waitlist, and the council says the programme continues until grant funding is exhausted.
