County money towards private wildfire mitigation work, paid after the work is done. Eligible projects create defensible space, reduce vegetation density and break up the continuity of fuels around communities and individual properties in the wildland urban interface.
Two things decide whether an application is even looked at. Every project must submit a minimum of two detailed contractor bids and a detailed site map, and the county says incomplete applications will not be accepted or reviewed. Work required by the land use process, such as mitigation a developer has been told to do, is not eligible. Where this comes from
Who qualifies Homeowners, homeowner associations and communities in Douglas County. Awards are competitive rather than first come. Developer required mitigation and anything going through the land use process is ineligible.
